About this HR Advisory course

Course Overview

This course provides school leaders with the information and knowledge required to suitably manage workplace stress.

Intended Outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide the tools/skills/information for school leaders to manage stress with the employee team. Those completing the course will develop an understanding of their role and responsibilities for managing work-related stress. The course will provide the following:

  • A definition of stress
  • Information required to spot the signs of stress
  • How to deal with staff who are showing signs of stress
  • An understanding of the HSE Management Standards for work-related stress
  • How to undertake a stress risk assessment
  • Ability to identify appropriate interventions for managing stress
  • An understanding of the management competencies in preventing and dealing with stress

Who is it for

Designed for School Leaders – Head Teachers/Principals. School Leaders should complete the training and cascade down to line managers if required. This course can be made available to all managers if required.

Duration

45 minutes to 1 hour.

Assessment

To successfully complete the course, learners will be required to pass a short assessment.
