Introduction to Grievance Procedures for Schools
What this course contains
This course will enable delegates to learn, and become familiar with, the basic steps, procedures and legal considerations involved in managing a grievance both formally and informally. This course provides a step-by-step guide, providing attendees with a better understanding of the general process involved and providing an opportunity to reflect on a number of scenarios and examples to help build confidence and to assist with effectively managing a grievance.
Intended outcomes
Course participants will be able to:
- Recognise the importance of having an effective Grievance Policy
- Recognise the importance of keeping accurate records
- Effectively deal with a grievance informally
- Recognise a formal grievance
- Hold an effective grievance meeting
- Familiarise themselves with the elements of an effective Grievance Investigation
- Consider appropriate action
- Consider appropriate sanctions and dismissal
- Deal with an appeal effectively
Who is this course for
This course has been developed as an introduction to the grievance process and is aimed at aspiring members of the Senior Leadership Team, newly appointed Line Managers, members of the Governing Body and School Business Managers new to the role.
The cost
The course costs £475 + VAT and can be delivered on site to up to 10 delegates
If two three hour courses booked for the same day the cost is £795 + VAT.
Assessment
To successfully complete the course, attendees will be required to pass a short assessment.
CPD
Upon successful completion of the course attendees will be issued a CPD accredited certificate. The course equates to 3 hours of CPD.
