Course Overview

This course is an introduction into Obtaining References and is aimed at aspiring members of the Senior Leadership Team, newly appointed Line Managers, members of the Governing Body and School Business Managers new to the role.

Intended Outcomes

This course will provide you with knowledge about Providing References and will provide you with knowledge to understand the following;

  • Why employers should take care when providing a references;
  • When should the employer provide a reference;
  • What information should be included in a reference;
  • How sickness absence can impact on a reference;
  • What liability falls on the employer; and
  • Data Protection and references.

Assessment

To successfully complete the course, learners will be required to pass a short assessment.
