10 Things Schools Need to Know About Asbestos

About this event

Did you know as many as 80% of state schools in England still have Asbestos often in unpredictable and inaccessible locations?

With Asbestos-containing materials used in the construction of schools even until the late 1990s, it’s no wonder so many sites are affected by the toxic substance.

Due to its dangerous nature, Asbestos removal must adhere to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Managing it on your site can be a minefield for compliance and failure to comply with HSE regulation can be a criminal offence.

During the session we will be looking at:

        • Asbestos – current production and usage.

        • Legislation. Licensed and non-licensed removal.

        • Documents required before the start of the project (school and contractor).
        • Competency of contractor (non-licensed and licensed projects).
      • Managing your asbestos removal contractor on site.

Let us introduce you to this week's professional speaker
