Who is it for?
This course is aimed at members of SLT, SBMs, HR team members and line managers that may be involved in the management of short-term sickness absence. It may also be helpful for Governors or Trustees to have an overview of the management of short-term sickness in the event they are asked to consider the dismissal of a member of staff due concerns regarding their attendance.
Intended Outcomes
This course provides a best practice overview on how to support staff, but also to deal with and manage short term, intermittent sickness absence, including:
- Understanding the difference between managing short- and long-term absences;
- Understanding the importance of RTW and welfare meetings in early interventions and reducing absences;
- Understanding the importance of trigger points; and
- Understanding the full formal absence process when managing short term, intermittent absences.
Cost

This session is charged at £250 per hour. Discounts applied for Employment Law & HR Clients at £175 per hour. Where the session is to be delivered on site, reasonable travel expenses will be charged in addition to the session cost.
