The course explores the key data protection considerations around CCTV in schools, including:

• When and why CCTV can be used lawfully in a school setting.

• Lawful bases for CCTV processing and common mistakes to avoid.

• Transparency requirements, signage, and privacy information.

• Managing access, retention, and disclosure of CCTV footage.

• Handling Subject Access Requests involving CCTV.

• A practical worked example, which participants will be guided through during the session to build confidence in applying best practice - including CCTV in bathrooms!

CCTV is a highly intrusive form of processing and must be managed carefully to protect individuals’ rights. Poorly configured systems, excessive retention, or unclear purposes can lead to complaints, reputational damage, and regulatory scrutiny. This session helps schools ensure their use of CCTV is proportionate, transparent, and compliant with data protection law.

Cost
