The Ofsted Shake-Up: How the New Framework Impacts Practice
Join us on the sofa for a session exploring the new Ofsted inspection toolkit. The session is designed to give Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), Senior Leaders, MAT leads and safeguarding professionals practical insights and strategies to strengthen their practice to remain ready for ‘the call’.
Judicium and Thrive will work together to outline updates to the new grading system and changes to the guidance before diving deeper into new areas of increased focus including inclusion, well-being, behaviour, and attendance.
During the session we will be discussing the following:
- Updates to how Ofsted will inspect schools, including grading and changes to the guidance.
- A review of increased focus areas such as inclusion, well-being, behaviour, and attendance.
- A review of the Thrive tool, supporting you to evidence whole-school wellbeing.
Key Takeaways
- Review your practice against new Ofsted guidance.
- Consider how you evidence key areas such as inclusion, wellbeing, behaviour and attendance.
- Consider vulnerable groups such as those with SEND, children known to social care and young carers.
- An awareness of tools to support you to evidence student wellbeing.
Let us introduce you to this week's professional speakers
Joanne Bocko
Joanne has a wide range of safeguarding experience which allows her to understand the differences between schools and the challenges they face. Starting as a primary school teacher, her compassion for those in need led to a move to Police Staff and eventually working in the cybercrime team supporting schools and students with online safety issues. She headed up campaigns for online offences and appeared on the BBC and Radio One newsbeat. Her passion for schools brought her to the Local Authority, where, as a Safeguarding in Education Officer, she provided training and support to all schools in her county. Her motto is ‘if it will make life easier and better for schools, I will do it!’
