Briefing Overview

The Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Act 2023 introduces a new statutory entitlement to support parents whose babies require neonatal care after birth. This entitlement came into effect on 6 April 2025 (meaning it applies to babies born on or after this date, it is therefore important that employers know how to correctly deal with and respond to requests to use take neonatal care leave.
