Introduction to UK GDPR and Data Protection
The training course “Introduction to UK GDPR and Data Protection” gives schools and MATs a clear overview of the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, including the key principles, individual rights, and organisational responsibilities.
It explains topics such as the role of the Data Protection Officer, DPIAs, personal data breaches, privacy notices, consent, responding to data requests, and outlines examples of physical, organisational and cyber security.
Intended outcomes:
By the end of the course, participants should:
- Understand the legal framework and obligations under UK GDPR.
- Be able to recognise and handle personal data appropriately within their school setting, and
- Know how to respond to data protection incidents, requests, and compliance requirements with confidence.
