Who is it for?

This briefing for all staff but particularly those involved with operational issues in school. This could include members of SLT, SBMs, HR team members or line managers.

Briefing Overview

This briefing will provide clarity on the definition of sex under the Equality Act and a best practice approach where there may need to be a change to practices in school.  The most pressing issue is likely to be the provision of staff facilities.  Schools will need to check that facilities are compliant, and managers need to be prepared for any changes.  Policies and handbooks may also need to be updated in line with the legal ruling.
