Restrictive interventions, including use of reasonable force, in schools- 2026 updates

The Department for Education’s guidance on the Use of Reasonable Force in Schools has been refreshed. From April 2026, new guidance will come into effect on Restrictive interventions, including the use of reasonable force, in schools.

This Live at 3.45 session will support schools to understand the key changes in approach and identify clear actions to ensure practice is aligned with the updated guidance.

This session will be led by our Judicium expert, with time for questions at the end.

This webinar provides Designated Safeguarding Leads, Behaviour Leads, SEND practitioners, Governors and Senior Leaders with the knowledge to understand the following:

  • Changes to the guidance
  • Considerations for equality and diversity including SEND
  • Expectations for staff training
  • Informing parents
  • Record Keeping
