Safeguarding with Confidence: Managing Allegations and Low-Level Concerns in Schools

Understanding how to manage allegations and low-level concerns is a crucial part of creating a safe and transparent culture in every school. This practical safeguarding session is designed to give school leaders, Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), and HR professionals’ greater confidence in identifying, assessing, and responding to concerns about adults working with children.

Through real-world examples, case discussions, and the latest statutory guidance, we’ll explore how to apply thresholds effectively — ensuring proportionate, fair, and consistent decision-making.

This webinar will cover the following areas:

  • Understanding the distinction between an allegation and a low-level concern
  • Applying threshold decisions confidently and consistently
  • Exploring the role of the LADO and when to consult
  • Recording, reporting, and managing low-level concerns in line with KCSIE guidance
  • Learning from case studies and best practice approaches
