Parm Nijjar - Meet the team
Parm Nijjar
Data Services Manager
Parminder brings extensive technical expertise across data privacy, data governance, and information security frameworks. He provides specialist advice, interprets legislation, engages with regulators, and supports organisations through complaints, audits, and investigations.
He began his career in broader legal practice, working across litigation, tax, and regulatory compliance, before focusing on data protection in the education sector. For the past eight years, he has worked exclusively with schools and multi-academy trusts, developing a practical understanding of how data protection operates in corridors, classrooms, and leadership meetings. He leads one of the largest dedicated education data protection teams, shaping consistent, defensible approaches in complex areas such as data requests, high-risk incidents, and sensitive safeguarding scenarios. He has also played a key role in evolving sector thinking around emerging challenges, including recent developments in AI. Under his leadership, the service provides advice that is legally robust, practical for schools, and resilient under regulatory scrutiny.
Parm holds an LLB (Hons) Law, has completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC), and is a qualified Practitioner in Data Protection (PDP).
