Jedu Dashboard and Conducting Audits
You will hopefully have started using our compliance dashboard and we can’t wait to show you all of the features we will shortly be launching on it (including the ability to data map and to log breaches). In the meantime, the dashboard will allow you to review and maintain reports and outcomes for all re-audits (and all first audits that take place after 1st April 2020). If you are yet to sign in to the dashboard, please do follow the steps in the set up email or email support@judicium.com if you have not received it.
Please see below our FAQ on the importance of ensuring that your school is audited regularly.
Audit FAQs
- How often do we need to be audited?
Annual audits are best practice and helps ensure you meet the accountability principle under GDPR. The accountability principle means that you have to be able to evidence ongoing compliance with the GDPR. So being regularly audited helps ensure that compliance is continuous and ongoing. Plus annual audits are part of our DPO service to you so we want to ensure audits are done annually so we can discharge our DPO obligations in ensuring you are meeting best practice and legal requirements. - We were rated very good in our last audit. Why should we do it again?
Our audits are progressive so we don’t ask the same questions at each audit. This is to ensure that your practices are as secure and thorough as possible. Re-audits give us the chance to review progress since the last audit and if there have been any developments/challenges you have faced which may affect your data compliance. We will always review progress against best practice guidance and current legislation which is regularly changing. The audit also allows you to ask us any questions that you have relating to data protection. - How long will an audit take?
Usually between two and three hours. - We haven’t prepared anything for the audit, should we cancel until we are more prepared?
There’s no need to cancel an audit if you feel under prepared. We’re coming in to help and assist you (and not to punish) and if you are missing key action points we can help tell you how best to achieve this. If you’re not sure if you have all the right documents in place in advance of the audit, we will be on hand to point you in the right direction at the audit and tell you what you legally need to have and what we would recommend as best practice. - I need to cancel the audit due to another meeting that has come up. What should I do?
We would suggest where possible not to reschedule the audit unless necessary but do acknowledge that there can be emergencies that arise (for example an Ofsted inspection). If you do need to cancel your audit because of an emergency please email us at least three working days in advance to dataservices@judicium.com.
