The Employment Rights Act 2025 (ERA) is delivering some of the most significant employment law reforms in recent years. The first phase of major trade union changes came into force on 18 February 2026, strengthening trade union rights and increasing protections for employees.

These reforms mark a clear shift in the industrial relations landscape, with further employment law changes expected later in 2026.
