• Handling Subject Access Requests involving CCTV.

• A practical worked example, which participants will be guided through during the session to build confidence in applying best practice - including CCTV in bathrooms!

Poorly configured systems, excessive retention, or unclear purposes can lead to complaints, reputational damage, and regulatory scrutiny. This session helps schools ensure their use of CCTV is proportionate, transparent, and compliant with data protection law.

Intended outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will:

1. Understand the data protection requirements that apply to CCTV in schools.

2. Be able to identify appropriate lawful bases and purposes for CCTV use.

3. Apply best practice to managing access, retention, and disclosures of footage.

4. Gain practical confidence through a worked CCTV example discussed during the session.

There is no formal assessment. A live Q&A will be available throughout the session to support practical understanding and application.
