    Intended Outcomes

    Course participants will be able to:

    • Review the health and safety management system in their place of work and align it to HSE guidance.
    • Apply basic management principles and practices to safety and health issues as part of a total management strategy.
    • Recognise safety and health hazards and implement control measures.
    • Carry out and record risk assessment and recommend suitable control measures.
    • Ensure adequate information, training and supervision are provided for employees.
    • Investigate an accident or incident involving injury or damage to determine the causes and take appropriate actions.

    Who is this course for

    School Business Managers, Resource Directors, senior-level managers or any person responsible for managing or leading Health and Safety in educational organisations.

    Delivery

    This course can be delivered face to face or as interactive live webinars, hosted on Zoom – through a security protected account. Our webinars are led by CMIOSH presenters and allow participants in different locations to be guided through the course content, hear the presenter, ask questions, and participate in group discussions and case studies.

    The cost 

    The course costs £460.95 + VAT per delegate and can be delivered on site to small or larger groups of minimum 8 delegates and maximum 16 delegates.

    For schools that do not subscribe to our Health & Safety Support Service, fees are £576.35 + VAT per delegate.

    Assessment

    Each delegate will be required to undertake a short paper. On successful completion of the course and passing the exam (60%) candidates will receive a certificate.

    Requisites for web-based courses

    Each delegate would need to have access to a laptop, PC or Tablet device they are familiar with and they can use to type notes. The delegates should familiarise themselves with the use of Zoom before enrolling on the course. The electronic device will be needed for the whole course as all delegates are required to participate in group activities, and will be completing mock exams and an exam.

    CPD

    Upon successful completion of the course attendees will be issued a CPD accredited certificate.
