About this On-Site Health & Safety course

What this course contains

This course is designed to provide school leaders with the information needed to effectively manage Health and Safety in their educational environment. Providing a thorough understanding of the importance of health and safety, the legal requirements and how to meet these, how to implement correct health and safety procedures and how to monitor and review the performance.

Intended Outcomes

Course participants will be able to:

  • Recognise the importance of strategic health and safety management and its integration into other management systems
  • Appreciate the consequences of failing to manage health and safety effectively
  • Plan the direction for health and safety through developing and implementing policy
  • Appreciate the value of an adequately resourced health and safety management system
  • Ensure adequate information, training and supervision are provided for employees
  • Understand the importance of performance monitoring and review for continual improvement of health and safety management

Who is this course for

This course is designed for Head teachers, senior managers, academy trust boards and governors with strategic responsibility for health and safety in schools.

The cost

The course costs £595.00 + VAT and can be delivered on site to small or larger groups.

For schools that do not subscribe to our Health & Safety Support Service, fees are £895 plus VAT.


To successfully complete the course, attendees will be required to pass a short assessment.


Upon successful completion of the course attendees will be issued a CPD accredited certificate. The course equates to 3 hours of CPD.
