Course Overview:

What are fire doors and why do we need them?

This course will provide those who are required to check and maintain fire doors suitable practical knowledge, enabling them to fulfil this requirement.

Intended Outcomes:

The aim of this course is to provide the responsible premises officer with good knowledge and practical examples of what they should do and why they are required to complete it.  The course provides the following information:

  • The purpose of fire doors
  • Different types of fire doors
  • How to identify fire doors
  • Vision panel maintenance and inspection
  • Fire door hold-open devices & self-closers
  • Security-controlled doors
  • The importance of maintenance and inspection
  • How to complete a fire door check
  • How to ensure fire doors are installed and repaired correctly

Premises officers who are required to complete fire door checks.

30 – 40 minutes

Assessment:

To successfully complete the course, learners will be required to pass a short assessment.

CPD:

Upon successful completion of the course learners will be issued a CPD accredited certificate to download. The course equates to 1 hour of CPD.
