About this Health & Safety course

Course Overview:

The course aims to provide you with the knowledge to understand the key principles of environmental awareness relevant to the school environment. It highlights simple, practical steps we can all take to make a difference.

Intended Outcomes:

The aim of the course is to provide you with the following knowledge:

  • The legal basis for sustainability
  • Moral and social responsibility of schools
  • Why sustainability matters
  • Introduction to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
  • Definition and impacts of climate change
  • Solutions to climate change
  • Practical steps to improve energy and water usage
  • Waste hierarchy, waste streams and legal duties of waste disposal
  • Sustainable procurement

Who is it for:

This course is designed for all school staff, including both teaching and non-teaching personnel.

Duration:

45 minutes

The Cost:

This course is available as part of our eLearning annual licence which includes unlimited access to the full Health and Safety eLearning Library for £1,385 plus VAT per annum.

Alternatively, if your school subscribes to our annual Health and Safety Support Service, you will receive access to our entire health and safety eLearning library at no extra cost.

Assessment:

To successfully complete the course, learners will be required to pass a short assessment.

CPD:

Upon successful completion of the course learners will be issued a CPD accredited certificate to download. The course equates to 45 minutes of CPD.
