Covid-19 Goverment Guidance for Educational Settings

The Government has released guidance to assist schools and other educational settings in providing advice for staff, students and parents or carers regarding;

  • Information on the coronavirus (COVID-19)
  • How the virus is spread
  • Action to take if someone is confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19 and have been in a school or other educational setting
  • What advice to give to individuals who have travelled from specified countries/ areas within the last 14 days, including school trips

The National Institute for Clinical Excellence has recommended the use of e-Bug to teach students about hygiene. Key sections that may be useful are;

  • KS1: Horrid Hands
  • KS2: Hand Hygiene
  • KS3: Hand Hygiene
  • KS1: Super Sneezes
  • KS2: Respiratory Hygiene
  • KS3: Respiratory Hygiene

Public Health England have created an easy to read poster containing helpful information which can be sent out to all staff displayed within the school. It is the understanding that as COVID-19 changes then guidance will be updated. Always check the government website and publications to ensure that any guidance you are using is the latest version.
