Who is it for?

This course is aimed at members of staff that are involved in line management, who may, at times, need to hold difficult conversations with members of their team or colleagues that they line manage. This could include members of SLT, SBMs, HR Team members or middle managers. 

Intended Outcomes

This course focuses on the importance of having difficult conversations and how to manage these types of discussions, including looking at a number of practical examples. The aim of the session is to ensure participants can:  

  •  Identify what a difficult conversation is; 
  • Provide examples of when difficult conversations might take place; 
  • Provide reasons why we need to engage in difficult conversations; 
  • Understand how to handle difficult responses from staff; and   
  • Understand the skills to utilise when having difficult conversations. 


        • The cost of this session starts at £995 plus VAT for up to 20 participants for clients of the Employment Law & HR Service. Each additional participant will be charged at £55 plus VAT per head. Where the session is to be delivered on site, in person, reasonable travel expenses will be charged in addition to the session cost.
