Who is it for?

The course is aimed at members of SLT, SBMs, HR team members and line managers that maybe involved in managing changes to terms and conditions.  

Intended Outcomes

The course is intended to provide an overview of how to manage changing terms and conditions of employment, identify what contractual provisions may be in place, what any consultation process may involve and the options and associated risks to consider if agreement on changes cannot be gained. At the end of the course, it is intended that participants will have covered the below:


  • How to identify contractual provisions; 
  • Ways in which changes may be agreed; 
  • How to implement changes; 
  • Consultation with unions and staff; 
  • Options available to the employer if agreement cannot be reached and 
  • Risks to consider.


      • The cost of this session starts at £995 plus VAT for up to 20 participants for clients of the Employment Law & HR Service. Each additional participant will be charged at £55 plus VAT per head. Where the session is to be delivered on site, in person, reasonable travel expenses will be charged in addition to the session cost.
