Course Overview:
The course is designed to equip non-science staff with an understanding of the key hazards, and the additional control measures required, in a laboratory setting.
Intended Outcomes:
The aim of the course is to provide you with the following knowledge:
- Legal basis for additional controls and procedures
- Extra general precautions required
- Common laboratory hazards
- Services
- Glassware
- Equipment
- Hazardous substances
- General room hazards
- Emergency Procedures
Who is it for:
This course is designed for non-Science staff who support science practical lessons, other staff delivering science practical lessons.
Duration:
60 minutes
The Cost:
This course is available as part of our eLearning annual licence which includes unlimited access to the full Health and Safety eLearning Library for £1,455 plus VAT per annum.
Alternatively, if your school subscribes to our annual Health and Safety Support Service, you will receive access to our entire health and safety eLearning library at no extra cost.
Assessment:
To successfully complete the course, learners will be required to pass a short assessment.
CPD:
Upon successful completion of the course learners will be issued a CPD accredited certificate to download. The course equates to 60 minutes of CPD.
