Who is it for?

This session is aimed at for members of staff that provide references on behalf of an employer. This is most likely to be members of SLT, SBMs and HR Team members, but could also be of assistance to Governors and Trustees.

Briefing Overview

In this briefing we will explore what should be included (or what to look for) in references to ensure it is compliant with KCSIE 2023.

We will examine key questions you can ask and when – including questions about attendance, previous investigations and disciplinaries, alongside those questions you should look to avoid.

Finally, we will also discuss what you can say in a reference, particularly when the reference is not great!
